  • Create and manage corporate sponsorship of all Leadership Austin programs, including Essential Class, Emerge Program, Engage Breakfast Series and Experience Austin
  • Develop new fund development strategies related to membership and sponsorship programs and individual donor cultivation to promote organizational growth

Director of Development, Arthouse at the Jones Center, Austin, TX, November 2009 – May 2011
Nonprofit contemporary art center creating meaningful opportunities to investigate and experience the art of our time through exhibitions, programs, and commissions of new work

  • Oversaw all resource development efforts for a $1.3 million budget, including individual and corporate donations, membership, governmental funding and foundation grants
  • Orchestrated reopening weekend of renovated and expanded Jones Center comprising $1,000 ticketed gala dinner, artists night, members preview and public reopening, with over 4,000 attendees
  • Developed and implemented I Heart Arthouse, an online micro-giving campaign driven by social media; case study presented at the 2010 National Arts Marketing Project Conference
  • Managed $6.8 million Capital Campaign for major building renovation and expansion project
  • Managed all donor-related special events, including annual Five x Seven fundraiser and exhibition openings
  • Managed a development team that included a Development Assistant and Membership Manager

Deputy Director, Texas Cultural Trust, Austin, TX, August 2005 – October 2009
Statewide nonprofit organization providing leadership to promote and highlight the importance of the arts in educating our children and sustaining our vibrant Texas economy

  • Started a young professionals giving group, strataTX, leading efforts in recruitment, event planning, and fundraising
  • Assisted in planning of biennial Texas Medal of Arts Awards, a seven-part celebration in Austin raising over $1 million
  • Selected, installed and implemented Sage Fundraising 50 database, including the set-up and migration of constituent records from Filemaker Pro
  • Interacted with and supported a statewide Board of Directors
  • Planned special events of Texas Cultural Trust programs, including the Young Masters Scholarship Program and Texas Women for the Arts
  • Edited a chapter book for elementary school students themed on the visual arts, titled Adventures in the ARTS: Mystery of the Gooey, Grey Glob

Intern, Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY, June – August 2004

  • Worked with the Capital Campaign (goal: $858 million) within the Department of Development and Membership
  • Presented a gallery talk entitled Rousseau and Brancusi: Exploring the Exotic in Modernism based on works from the permanent collection
